Rush owner/general manager Brett Richardson, announced the decisions on Monday. "We have decided to explore some options to get back into the ballgame. While I don't like giving up a player like Perry Lambert, I think anytime we can get talent at certain positions where we are weak, and give us draft picks to help us in the future, we will be better long-term." Acknowledging some mistakes, Richardson said that too many rookies have hurt the on-field progress of the Rush. "We should have held our cards closer last fall and this spring. That was my mistake. We need guys who can play and have leadership potential. That is the type of guy were looking for. I think our fans will understand that if we get back into the draft, and make the right moves, we can get a player equal to or if not better then Lambert." The reason for the move in large part is due to the fact that the Rush have played the toughest schedule in the league to date and have little to show for it. "Were getting our butts kicked in.. Our line is weak and has to improve, that is clear. So far we have played Memphis and Evansville, two of the best teams in the league, and now we face Mobile and New England, another two top five teams. Then we go back into division play and have to face Evansville, Rosemont, and then face Minneapolis, who is having a great season. Were in the prepare for next year mode."

Rush Announce Fallen Hero's Fund Golf Scramble

Today, the St. Louis Rush of the OIFL have announced that they are hosting the First St. Louis Rush/Fallen Hero's Fund Golf Scramble. We are excited about not only playing golf at one of the St. Louis Area's finest public courses, but to do something for our troops. I know the schedule is not really on our side. We play two very good teams the next two weeks. Look, were a very young team that is getting experience. We had a strategy and were going forward."

On owner disagreements:
"Anytime you are in a league with a diverse group, you will have owners not see things eye to eye. That is a given."

On the Boeing Center:
"What a fantastic place to play in. Were proud of what were able to do here and the commitment we have received from Boeing."

On if the Boeing Center should employ a retractable roof, like San Francisco:
"Well..take it for what its worth, but that city has always been known for having 'flakes' or you know, we don't have to go down that road, but what a joke. It would be a huge advantage though to have to play in hot Missouri 95 degree humidity in July, August, and September. They don't call the state Misery for nothing.. Speaking tongue and cheek for a second, could the Hooligans handle 95 degree temps and 90% humidity?"

On power polls and such:
"Who cares really? The only number I'm interested in, and the only number Coach Martz and the players are interested in is the numbers in the left hand column. Its good locker room and water cooler talk, but the league isn't based on B(C)S formulas to determine who makes the playoffs or postseason, its based on wins and how you do in your division and conference. Yea there are going to be some whiny ass types that will cry because some of the newer teams get into the playoffs because of their record and weaker divisions at the expense of some of the long standing teams, but that's how the balls break. The polls are fun to do and look at but that is about it."

On the First Annual, ST LOUIS RUSH/Intrepid Fallen Hero's Fund Golf Scramble:
"Were going to host our first Fallen Hero's Fund Golf Scramble on September 4th at Crystal Springs Quarry Golf Club. We expect that 100% of the profits of this event will go to the Intrepid Fallen hero's Fund. The Intrepid Air and Space Museum based in New York City, by the way, the carrier my Grandfather served on in World War II, are the people that have organized this charity for our wounded and injured soldiers. We think its a great charity to be involved with. More information about the Golf Scramble will be forthcoming."

For more information about the Fallen hero's Fund go to: http://www.fallenheroesfund.org/fallenheroes/index.php

Rush Look Drop Close one to Minneapolis

After winning their first game ever in OIFL, the St. Louis Rush lost to Minneapolis 35-29 to go to 1-1 in OIFL play. I think we have an exciting team in a new town and facility; were very happy!

Announcing First Week Promotions: First 1000 fans at the game will get a voucher to have 10 mins with a flight specialist in one of the F-15 Strike Eagle simulators; that will be located throughout the season in the lower concourse. All fans will receive a magnent schedule.

Martz on team prep for Central Iowa: "Well, it looks like they are pretty balanced overall; nothing really sticks out that wows you. I think we need to one, not take anyone lightly; two, execute our gameplan; three, play solid defense."

On starting QB: "Still haven't made a decision; likely that both will play. I want to keep people guessing. I'm leaning one way and we will see where it goes."

On the final roster: "Well, we still have a claim out that we are waiting on to see if we get then we will make a decision. I don't really get it honestly, you either put a claim in on a guy and get him or you don't; not sure what all the fuss is about. I thought FA was first come first serve; somehow waiver wire has become a bidding war. I will let Brett handle that, I just coach em."

On preseaon overall: "We outgained both of our opponents. We did something I'm not sure this franchise has ever done, (against New Hampshire), out rush an opponent.
